Summary
The Airflow iCON 60 is the biggest and most powerful extractor fan in their iCON series. This fan is extremely effective in kitchens larger bathrooms and utility rooms.
It can either be recessed or surface mounted into ceilings or walls and is very unique while also unassuming. If you would rather surface mount this unit, a narrow “skirt” is provided.
This mighty fan delivers an excellent maximum flow rate of around 280 m3/h, which is roughly 78 l/s.
The iCON 60 also features a futuristic iris shutter, designed to stop back draughts, operate silently and also helps reduce any noise ingress.

Extraction Rate
The Airflow iCON 60 has a max extraction flow rate of 280m3/hr, which is around 78 litres per second. Being the last extractor fan in the Airflow iCON range, this extraction rate will be suitable for bigger applications e.g. bigger bathrooms, kitchens, utility rooms etc. If you feel you need a less powerful extraction rate, you should consider the iCON 30 or even the iCON 15, which will also mean a saving in price as well.
Power Consumption
This iCON 60 mixed flow fan has a max consumption rate of around 66.3 Watts. While this is not the lowest wattage around, you need to remember that this fan packs a punch and is designed for larger applications.
Noise Level
The Airflow iCON 60 outputs a moderately low sound level of 41.6dB at 3m, which is fairly quiet, especially for a super-powerful extractor fan like this one. It is important to keep in mind that although this sound level might seem higher than others, this fan is very powerful and intended for bigger areas.
Design
This extractor fan was created from quality ABS thermoplastics. It is refreshing to see a circular design where most are usually square! The iCON 60 also has cantilever fixing lugs meaning it can be installed on uneven surfaces if required.
One of the many reasons we love this fan is because of the modern iris shutter, which is designed to reduce backdrafts. This iris shutter is initiated via the brown actuator, which warms up and as a result pushes onto a white plastic clip, which opens the iris shutter. One important thing to note is, all the components must be aligned correctly during installation – especially when fitting the fan cover. Otherwise, it may seem like the fan is not working properly, if installed incorrectly.
Furthermore, Airflow also offers three easy-wipe cover options for the iCON 60 to match your room’s interior. These include; Silver, Anthracite, and Sandstone!
Overrun Timer
This model does not have a run-on timer feature. If this is something you’d like, you will need to get the Airflow TM iCON Plug-in Timer Module as well. It is very quick and simple to install, and would be much cheaper to replace than the whole fan itself.
Humidity Sensor
The iCON 60 does NOT have a humidity sensor or humidistat. If this is something you want, you will need to get the Airflow HTM iCON Plug-in Humidity & Timer Module and hook it up. This one is handy because it also has a timer control option as well.
Other Control Modules

Verdict: Should You Buy The iCON 60?
There are a multitude of reasons why you should get the iCON 60 fan. Firstly, the optional modules are easy to install and connect due to their “snap-in” design. The silent iris shutter gives the iCON 60 a very unique appearance while being completely practical.
It is also very strong, and great for large applications. If you’re after a modern-looking, unique bathroom fan, with an excellent extraction rate – then you should definitely opt for this fan.
