Summary

The Manrose CF100H is an excellent centrifugal fan that provides a powerful, yet quiet, and vibration-free airflow extraction. This model has been designed primarily for applications that would usually require air to be moved long distances as seen in the second diagram but also can be practically installed as seen in the first diagram.

The CF100H works extremely well against the pressures of long ducts and grill resistance. It comes fitted with a built-in spring-operated flap in the discharge spigot to cancel any backdraughts from occurring.

This fan is perfect for applications including utility rooms, cloakrooms, bathrooms, toilets, etc.

Extraction Rate

The Manrose CF100H has a decent maximum extraction flow rate of 90m3/hr, approximately 25 litres per second. While this fan does not have the highest extraction rate out there, this is to be expected as this fan’s design is intended for pushing air over longer duct runs.

Power Consumption

This centrifugal fan runs at 1,600 RPM and the motor runs at a maximum consumption of 20 Watts. Although the wattage may seem higher than some other models on the market, you have to remember that this is a powerful fan and is fairly standard for a centrifugal fan.

Noise Level

The Manrose CF100H outputs a noise volume of around 42dB at 3 metres. This is not the quietest bathroom fan and you will notice it – especially if you are changing from a typical axial fan. But keep in mind, as mentioned above, this is a powerful fan and will get the job done.

Design

This extractor fan was manufactured from top-quality ABS thermoplastics, selected for its long-lasting robustness. It also allows for easy cleaning, ensuring that the CF100H will work well for a very long time.

The motor itself is a single-phase induction motor and the bearings are pre-oiled. This reduces any requirement for maintenance while also ensuring that it will run for a long time.

One thing to note, as indicated by a customer, is that if you are replacing an existing Manrose extractor fan, the mounting points may not be in the same place. In this instance, the customer had the Manrose QF100T, which has different mounting points than this CF100H model.

With regard to its motor, it features a single-phase induction motor with bearings that are pre-oiled. This decreases the need for any maintenance while also making sure that it will last much longer.

Overrun Timer

As with all Manrose model numbers, the “T” means this unit features an overrun timer module. This run-on timer starts from 1 minute up to 20 minutes. It is usually best to set the overrun timer before you have installed the fan.

In order to configure it, you need to first remove the wiring cover. Make sure the power is off first! Next, you’ll need to gently twist the thumb wheel until you are happy with the time you have set. Customers have said it is fairly sensitive, meaning just a small turn will greatly affect the setting.

Humidistat

Additionally, as with all Manrose models, any with an “H” means they have a built-in humidity sensor or humidistat. This humidity control is fully adjustable from 40%RH to 90%RH. It is usually advisable to configure the humidistat before you have installed it.

In order to configure it, make sure the power is turned off first! Next, you need to take off the wiring cover. Then, insert a small flat-headed screwdriver and gently twist anti-clockwise to increase the time, and clockwise to reduce. Just like the run-on timer, customers have commented that it is sensitive, so take care when adjusting it.

Verdict: Should You Buy The CF100H?

That concludes our review! If you’re after a powerful centrifugal fan, manufactured by Manrose, a trusted brand, moderately priced, with a good extraction rate, you should definitely consider the CF100H as your next extractor fan. I personally like the fact that it comes with both timer and humidistat control options.

If for some reason you’d like this model without the humidistat option, take a look at our Manrose CF100T review.

Also, on the other hand, if you think you’ll need a larger, more robust fan, you should check out our full Manrose CF200T review.

Additionally, they also make the bigger version in this series with a humidity sensor. If this sounds like something you want from an extractor fan, be sure to check out our Manrose CF200H review.
